I trained at the Cuban National School of the Arts and performed with the Cuban National Ballet under Alicia Alonso’s direction.
Seeing our students grow and express themselves through dance is incredibly rewarding. Artistic education is vital for personal growth, fostering strong character, critical thinking, creativity, and resilience.
It’s fulfilling! Sharing my passion and experience in dance education brings me satisfaction and joy, as the excitement and growth of my students inspire me in return.
I love Cranbury’s strong sense of community and its support for the arts. Princeton Ballet School is dedicated to enriching the children’s community by offering opportunities to dance and perform in a professional environment. During the Nutcracker season, our students, starting as young as 6 or 7, work with a full production team, gaining insights into stage management, lighting, and costume design. They perform at venues like McCarter Theater, War Memorial, and State Theaters, among others. The live orchestra adds a magical dimension to their experience, immersing them in an atmosphere that only live music can provide. Daily classes with exceptional musicians help our dancers cultivate the musicality and adaptability essential for performing with an orchestra.
When I first left Cuba, incorporating myself as a dancer in a new environment at a later age was challenging. However, it also became an opportunity to expand my view of ballet and its influence on general education, as well as to develop my skills in producing shows and starting new ventures—all built on the strong foundation I gained from the Cuban Ballet School.
My advice to all readers is to embrace all learning opportunities and always stay true to your passion.
I am inspired by life itself, my students, the beauty of the arts, and especially my daughters. They motivate me to strive for excellence and to pass on my love for creativity and the humanity behind the art of dance.
I am passionate about nurturing creativity and believe in the transformative power of the arts.
